  1. That was originally a Battery Observation Post for the South head Forts. However, there is no record of it in any of the ARM 360 Fort Record Books.

  3. Having further investigated the Rodnny Street, I realised the significance of it's original use. Where there were coastal gun locations, a range fining site was established know as the BOP. The guns related to that BOP were the two 6" guns at Signal Hill Reserve; the site is still there. The house had two roles, one beinguse during the First World War when a 9.2 gun was at Signal Hill. Like Wollongong where the 9.2 guns were at Mount Drumond, the BOP was a house with the front room being the observation platform. The distance between the BOP and Guns was almost the same distance at Rodney Street. With World War two domination a need for coastal defense, the Federal Government owned the land at South Head and therefore, easy to erect two 6" guns and convert the House to a BOP for the Signal Hill site. hence the reason there was no BOP near the guns. The Rodney Reserve was parade ground and living quarters for gun crews so station on South Head. After the war, the commanding officer claimed the BOP and converted it into a dwelling and I believe, further extended the loving area. On investigation I noted an access shaft to the underground rooms related to 9.2 range fining electronics used in the map plotting room under the BOP. The entrance has been seal off. In the ARM 360 Fort Record Book for south head, reference was given to the ROD Phone exchange. Not exploring that further in the 1980's I failed to make the connection of the significance to the Rodney Street Address.

  8. Also, I have a weird obsession with the house Frankie and Lewis move into after becoming evicted from the Dover Heights house. It is referenced as being in Belleview Heights in an episode of LMW. Any information on this house will be greatly appreciated! Not going to stalk or anything as I live in WA 😁
